Fire Stations

Fire Station No. 161 (2nd Ave Fire Station), located at 475 N. 2nd Avenue, houses one 1,500 g.p.m. first-line pumper (equipped with Hurst rescue tool) and one 1,500 g.p.m. reserve pumper, and one rescue unit. Three Battalion Chiefs, three Fire Captains, three Fire Engineers, three Firefighter/Paramedics, are assigned here equally among three 24-hour fire/rescue shifts.

The rescue and reserve engines are not regularly staffed. They are staffed only by recalled personnel or when first-line equipment is out of service.

The Department's Administrative Office is also located at this facility. The Administrative staff includes the Fire Chief, two Division Chiefs, Deputy Fire Marshall, Executive Secretary, Secretary, EMS Coordinator, and Fire Prevention Inspector.

Fire Station No. 162 (San Antonio Fire Station), located at 2046 N. San Antonio Ave, houses one 1,500 g.p.m. first-line pumper, one 1,500 g.p.m. reserve pumper. Three Fire Captains, three Fire Engineers, three Firefighter/Paramedics are assigned here equally among three 24-hour fire/rescue shifts.

Fire Station No. 163 (Benson Fire Station), located at1350 N. Benson Ave, houses one 1,500 g.p.m. first-line Quint, one 1,500 g.p.m. reserve pumper. Three Fire Captains, three Fire Engineers, three Firefighter/Paramedics are assigned here equally among three 24-hour fire/rescue shifts.

Fire Station No. 164 ("The Dog Pound" Fire Station), located at 790 E. 15th St, houses one 1,500 g.p.m. first-line pumper. Three Fire Captains, three Fire Engineers, three Firefighter/Paramedics are assigned here equally among three 24-hour fire/rescue shifts.
