The Upland Public Library strives to provide material to cover every arena of knowledge in a variety of formats, including books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks. We have comprehensive reference collections for both adults and children. You'll find stacks of books in Spanish and Chinese languages and large print format. Special collections include the California Collection and Local History Collection. These collections contain in-depth historical photographs and documents pertaining to Upland and the surrounding areas.

Audio Visual Materials
The Upland Public Library maintains a variety of educational videos, audiobooks, and compact discs for children, teenagers, and adults. These collections are financially self-supporting; that is, the rental fee you pay per loan period enables the Library to purchase more titles. However, there is no rental fee for items identified as public service (PS) materials.
To borrow movies on DVD or VHS, you must have an adult or young adult Upland Public Library card. The loan period for movies is seven days. The rental fee is $2.00 per movie.
Audiobooks on CD, cassette or pre-loaded to a Playaway® check out for 21 days, same as print books, and may be renewed twice. There is a rental fee of $2.00 for unabridged audiobooks. Rental fees for abridged or children's audiobooks are $1.00 per audiobook. Universal headsets and AAA batteries are available for $1.00 each at the Circulation Desk.
The Library has Chinese mainland television series on VCD available for checkout. There is a rental fee of $5.00 for 3 weeks.
Join the AV Club at an annual $25.00 membership fee. AV Club members may rent at no extra cost audiobooks, movies, or music CDs, plus have access to the downloadable eBooks and digital audiobooks of the Southern California Digital Library. Limits on the number of loan periods and item types still apply, as well as any overdue fines or lost/damage fees.
OverDrive digital books in the Southern California Digital Library are available to AV Club members only, starting March 15, 2010. The loan period is 14 days for digital eBooks and audiobooks.
