How To Become A Volunteer

Volunteering is an exciting and fun opportunity to help the animals in our community. You will assist families in finding that perfect cat or dog to fit into their lifestyle. The rewards and memories will last a lifetime.

  • If volunteering for less than a total of 20 hours:
    • Go to the Human Resources Department in City Hall at 460 N. Euclid Ave. and fill out a Volunteer Services Application.
    • After you receive approval from Human Resources, bring the paperwork to Upland Animal Services to set up orientation and training.
    • Attend short-term volunteer orientation – held on the first and third Saturday of every month from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

  • If volunteering for more than a total of 20 hours:
    • Go to the Human Resources Department in City Hall at 460 N. Euclid Ave. and fill out a Volunteer Services Application.
    • Make an appointment with the Police Department for fingerprinting.
    • Attend volunteer orientation at the Upland Animal Shelter on one of the following dates:
      May 16th – June 13th – July 11th – August 15th – September 12th – October 10th
      4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Once you have been cleared through the City and attended orientation you will be ready to volunteer.
