This day is for the Upland Community – all Upland, all day! Entertainment at the Community stage will feature local Upland bands. Visit the Business expo with Upland businesses. There will be an Upland Community Parade starting at 5:00 p.m. with a celebration for Upland’s Community Hero. $5.00 pre-sale tickets for September 9th only will be available for Upland residents. The City of Upland will be holding its 7th Annual “Inside Upland Family Fun Day-Building A Stronger Community”. This community event spotlights businesses and organization s in the City of Upland. If you are interested in sponsoring, volunteering, having a booth or getting information out about your business or group, please contact Janis Rice, at the Recreation and Community Services Division at (909) 931-4281.
Witches flying past on broomsticks, black cats leaping here and there, ghosts and goblins on every corner and through the streets of Downtown Upland…It must be time for Scary-A-Faire, our safe alternative to trick-or-treating! The streets will be closed off so that the trick-or-treaters can make their way safely through games and activities. Bring a carved pumpkin for judging and dress up in your best costume ever for our costume contest! Awards will given in various categories: Prettiest, Scariest, Funniest and Most Creative. Costume judging will end at 7:10 pm sharp. Winners will be announced at approximately 7:30 pm. Food vendors will be present. Awards will be rewarded for Best Game Booths and Most Creative Game Booths.

Enjoy a spaghetti Dinner featuring New York Pizza Co., dessert provided by Bert & Rocky’s Cream Co., live entertainment, raffle prizes, door prizes, and silent auction.
Sponsorship by the Upland Community Partnership for Youth Development. All proceeds are used to support after school programs, offered through the City’s Recreation and Community Services Division. The Tour de Foothills is the prmier Inland Valley cycling event, drawing participants from throughout the southwest. New to this year's event is the Highlander Century route which will provide an additional challenge for strong riders. The Metric Century and Half Metric Century rides, wind around the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and into the Inland Empire. Both courses begin and end at Memorial Park in Upland. There are rest and water stops along the way with lunch following.
Deadline for early registration is October 31, 2010.

Century and Metric Century rides start at 7:00 a.m. / Half Metric Century ride starts at 9:00 a.m.
Post ride festivities include: Lunch, raffle, drawings, music, and vendor booths.

The City of Upland Recreation and Community Services Division and The Undefeated Baseline League Champs boys & Girls Cross Country Team from Upland High School are proud to announce our annual 5K Run/Walk! Funds will help the high school’s boys and girls cross country team. Prizes awarded to overall finisher-male and female. Medals will be given to the 1st place finishers in each age category of the 5K Run/Walk. Online registration will be available until November 21 under "Adult Classes and Activities.
COURSE PATH: The course will begin at San Antonio Park, South on Mountain Avenue to 23rd Street, East on 23rd Street to Euclid Avenue, North on Euclid Avenue to 24th Street, West on 24th Street, North West on San Antonio Crescent West and South on Mountain Avenue to the finish line at San Antonio Park.

Parade will begin at 5:00 p.m. In addition to the 100 arts and crafts vendors showing a variety of special ideas and gifts for the Holidays, live holiday entertainment, and food vendors. The City of Upland Recreation and Community Services Division is sponsoring their annual “Home For The Holidays” house decorating contest and invites all Upland residents to enter. All entries must be received no later than Tuesday, December 7. The decorating categories are: Neighborhood, Reason For The Season, Humorous, Originality, Lights Extravaganza and Most Animated.

11:00 a.m. check-in. This annual luncheon has become a wonderful holiday tradition. The Chamber partners with Upland Recreation & Community Services and the Upland Fire Department’s Spark of Love Toy Drive to collect toys and distribute them to the children of the community at Cable Airport where Santa is flown in with an escort by the Upland Fire Department.
