Notable News Weekly

Welcome to the “Notable News Weekly”, where we share the weekly email submitted to City Council and staff since its inception in 2022. This email highlights key accomplishments and updates from across all City departments, giving insight into the projects and programs shaping our community. While not an exhaustive list, it demonstrates the remarkable amount of work happening each week and fosters collaboration, efficiency, and teamwork among staff.

This Week's Notable News Highlights: 
  • Police Department- On April 25, officers responded to a report of a vandalism on Stowell St. Someone was throwing rocks at buildings and cars. Officers arrived, located the suspect and detained him. Several victims were found where the suspect smashed their car windshields with a rock. Other victims were also located, where the suspect attempted to break the glass doors to their businesses. The suspect was subsequently arrested for felony vandalism and a no bail warrant for his arrest. 
  • Public Works- Operations team installed overhead, street and railroad signs throughout the city.  Staff removed a big pile of Palm Fronds from the roadway.
